HAIR REMOVAL

THE SEARCH FOR SMOOTH
Removing unwanted hair is a time consuming, sometimes painful and frustrating part of our lives.

Shaving or Chemical gels remove hair at the surface, giving you short term results. Slightly more long-term are methods like wax or epilators that pull the hair out from the shaft. These methods do not affect the essential element necessary for hair growth - the hair bulb.

With the latest in IPL hair removal light based treatments, you can achieve permanent hair reduction. By gently removing hair at its source and damaging the bulb,IPL hair removal treatments significantly inhibits future hair growth.

PERMANENT HAIR REMOVAL/REDUCTION
WITH IPL-DPC TECHNOLOGY

IPL-DPC hair removal and reduction treatments are safe, comfortable and effective.

Our advanced IPL-DPC chill tip cools up to -8 degrees celcius providing our clients with the most comfortable treatment on the market!

HOW IT WORKS
A human hair is comprised of 3 main parts:
  • The hair shaft

  • The follicle

  • The bulb

Our hair removal/reduction procedure emits light beam through the hair shaft, into the hair folicle and bulb. The light energy turns into heat energy coagulating the melanin in the follicle and bulb. As a result the follicle/bulb CANNOT grow new hair.

Fantastic Results!

FAQ's

What is IPL-PDC hair removal/reduction treatment?

IPL (intense Pulsed Light) Hair removal/reduction procedure which emits light beam through the hair shaft to the follicle and bulb. The light energy turns to heat energy coagulating the melanin in the follicle and bulb. As a result the follicle/bulb cannot grow new hair. Also, with DPC (dynamic pulse control) we are better able to target different hair colors ranging from light brown to black providing a more effective treatment.

How does light-based technology work?

Light based technology is based on a method called "selective photothermolysis" which works by selective destruction of a specified target without damaging surrounding tissue.

Are IPL-DPC aesthetic treatments painful?

No.During the procedure a slight, momentary stinging sensation may be felt, but not pain. With our chill tips reaching up to -8 degrees celcius cooling, the procedure is quite comfortable in comparison to older technologies.

How many treatments are required?

The typical regimen is 5-7 treatments, spaced 4-12 weeks apart, depending on the body area.

Why are multiple treatments necessary?

About 20-25% of human hair follicles on the body are in the active growth phase at any given time. This is the  percentage of hair follicles that can be destroyed in a singe treatment session. In order to eliminate 75% + of the hair, treatment must be repeated at the scheduled times until the desired result is achieved.

  • Avoid abrassive skin facials or chemical peels one week prior and post-treatment.

  • Avoid caffeine before treatment as this can cause your nerve endings to be hyper-sensitive enhancing the feeling/reaction to treatment.

  • To decrease sensitivity you may take your regular pain reliever prior to treatment.

  • Remove deodorant from axilla (armpit) and cleanse skin before treatment.

Post-Treatment Prep

  • Avoid direct sunlight, pools, hot tubs, and increased sweating (work out) on the same day of treatment and up to 24 hours after and until redness and inflammation has disappeared.

  • Avoid abrasive skin facials/ and chemical peels one week after treatment.

  • Avoid regular facials/exfoliation 48 hours before and after treatment.

  • Maintain cleanliness by keeping your hands away from the area that has been treated and continue at home with your regular cleansing schedule morning and night.

Post Treatment

What to Expect

  • Relatively short healing time

  • Slight swelling/inflammation around follicle.

  • Occasionally a small scab may form around follicle. It is VERY IMPORTANT TO REFRAIN FROM picking, scratching, or rubbing the scab.  Picking may result in skin pitting; this may not heal properly and leave a scar-like pit in skin.
